Body and Soul

It's a sad yet common truth that where there lies tragedy, exists an ability to forget it at a terrifyingly rapid pace.

Thankfully, though the practicalities of Amy Winehouse's death have somewhat dwindled from media view, her family and friends have worked hard to ensure that whatever aspects do live on, are those that can be celebrated: her hard work, her beauty, and of course, her voice.

Today sees the first airing of Amy Winehouse's final single, recorded prior to her death alongside 85 year old American Jazz star, Tony Bennett.

Upon listening to this poignant farewell, one wonders how such a voice could ever be forgotten, and simultaneously hopes that it never will be.

Filmed in an intimate recording studio, the video offers a glimpse, a reminder perhaps, of the stunning talent that has tragically been lost, and rekindles that famed connection between Amy and those soul-fuelled songs of love, heartbreak and everything in between.

One can only hope that the single is received well in the public eye, and that the smiling young woman we see here is the one that will be reflected upon in years to come.

All proceeds made from the single will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up to help young individuals who are battling issues with drugs and alcohol.
